Torn Wrist Ligament Repair - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing

This stock medical exhibit depicts a torn wrist ligament repair. The first illustration shows a dorsal view of the bones of the hand, indicating a defect in the ligament between the navicular and lunate bones. The second illustration is an enlarged version of the injured area in the first illustration. It shows torn fibrocartilage and a tear in the ligament between the lunate and triquetral bones. The third illustration shows the first step in the procedure, in which a shaver and arthroscope have been inserted into the wrist. The fourth illustration shows a detailed enlargement of the prior illustration; in this illustration, a shaver is used to debride the torn triangular fibrocartilage.
