Lumbar Disc Injuries with Initial Double Level Discectomy and Fusion Surgery - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This stock medical exhibit depicts lumbar disc injuries and the double level discectomy and fusion surgery used to repair them. The first image is an artist's interpretation of an actual MRI of the lumbar spine, which clearly shows the disc bulges at L4-L5 and L5-S1. The next four images show multiple steps of the surgical procedure, including the posterior lumbar incision, laminectomies at L4-L5 and L5-S1, discectomies and placement of bone grafts at these levels, and insertion of pedicle screws and rods at L4, L5, and S1 bilaterally. The final image is an artist's interpretation of an actual post-operative MRI, which clearly shows the bone grafts and posterior construct in place.
"I just wanted to let you know that after several days on trial, I settled
[my client's] construction accident case for $4.5 million. Immediately after
the jury was discharged, I spoke with several jurors who told me that they
really appreciated the medical illustrations for their clarity in dealing
with [my client's] devastating injuries. They also expressed their gratitude
in being able to read from a distance all of the notations without
difficulty. Obviously, the boards were visually persuasive. I am certain
that this contributed to our successful result."

"I thought you might want to know that after we sent a copy of your
illustration to the defendants, with a copy to
the insurance company, they increased their offer by an additional million
dollars and the case was settled for $1,900,000.00.
I appreciate your help!"

"For us, the defining feature of effective demonstrative evidence is
whether, by itself, the piece will tell the story of the case. Medical legal
Art provides our firm with illustrations and animations that are clear and
persuasive. Their exhibits tell the story in a way that allows the jury to
understand a very complex subject, very quickly."
