This stock medical exhibit depicts a post-operative non-union and repeat L5-S1 fusion surgery. The first image shows the pre-operative condition, with posterior rods and bone grafts in place from L4-S1 and partial non-fusion of bone graft at L5-S1. The remaining images describe multiple steps of the repeat fusion surgery, including the anterior abdominal incision and exposure of the lumbar spine, the removal of the anterior disc and bone graft from L5-S1, the placement of a femoral ring into the empty disc space, and the application of a buttress plate to the anterior body of L5.
