Extensive Sinus Surgery - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit begins with one profile portrait of the head, neck and upper torso of in a supine position as if lying on an operating table. The anatomy of the nasal sinuses are shown transparently beneath the skin. This image shows the gloved hands of the surgeon inserting the endoscope through the nose deep into the sinus cavity.
Next, one enlarged sagittal cut-away view of the nasal region represens the sinus surgery in greater detail. This image shows the tip of the endoscope inserted deep into the nasal sinuses while biting away at the ethmoid sinuses completing the total endoscopic ethmoidectomy. Finally, one anterior facial portrait shows with all the various sinuses transparently beneath the skin. This image illustrates the post-operative condition with labels pointing out each of the regions of surgery in the ethmoid sinuses, maxillary sinuses, sphenoid sinuses and nasal septum.
