Atrial Ablation Surgery with Resulting Atrial-esophageal Fistula - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This stock medical exhibit begins with an anterior view of a male with the heart and major blood vessels visible beneath the skin. A catheter is shown threaded up through the femoral vein and inferior vena cava and into the heart. An inset cross-sectional view of the heart shows the tip of the catheter in greater detail - it enters the right atrium and passes through the atrial septum into the left atrium. Next, a side cut-away view shows the close relationship of the atrium and the esophagus. An inset again shows the catheter tip in place and the ablation in progress. A final inset shows the subsequent condition, with a fistula forming between the atrium and the esophagus.

What attorneys say about MLA and The Doe Report:
"We got a defense verdict yesterday! Your exhibit was extremely helpful in showing the jury how unlikely it is to damage all four of the nerve branches which control the sense of taste."

"I wanted to thank you for the terrific job you did illustrating my client's injuries. The case was settled at the pre-suit mediation, and I believe a good part of the success we had was due to the medical legal art you prepared.

Your work received the ultimate compliment at the conclusion of the mediation. The hospital risk manager took the exhibit with them at the conclusion of mediation, and will be using it to train nurses on how to prevent bed sores..."

"Medical Legal Art wins our firm's highest accolades for professionalism and exhibit quality. In fact, many of the doctors I work with request color copies of your outstanding artwork to show to patients during the informed consent process."

"[Your staff] was extremely efficient, cooperative and gracious and [their] efforts produced a demonstrative exhibit that we used effectively throughout our trial. The jury verdict of $3,165,000.00 was, in no small measure, due to the impact of the demonstrative evidence. You may be sure that we will call again."
