Post-Operative Complication Following a Roux-en Y Procedure - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit features two large anterior cut-away views of the female torso comparing normal anatomy with the pre-operative condition. The normal anatomy image clearly show the proper architecture of the upper digestive system showing how the esophagus pierces the diaphragm, joins with a normal stomach which attaches to the duodenum and onward into the other portions of the small intestine. The second image clearly reveals the evidence of the previous Roux-en-Y gastric bypass with approximately 80% of the stomach removed. This image shows a very small gastric remnant attached to a small Roux-en-Y limb with these portions of the anatomy herniating up through the diaphragm as a hiatal hernia. The remaining antrum of the stomach is a blind loop surrounded by dense post-operative adhesions affecting the vasculature to this region.

What attorneys say about MLA and The Doe Report:
"For modern audiences, it is absolutely essential to use medical demonstrative evidence to convey the severity and extent of physical injuries to a jury. Your company's high quality illustrations of our client's discectomy surgery, combined with strong expert testimony, allowed the jury to fully appreciate the significance of our client's injuries.

We are very pleased with a verdict exceeding $297,000.00, far in excess of the $20,000.00 initially offered by the defendant. The medical demonstrative evidence provided by Medical Legal Art was an asset we could not have afforded to have been without."
