Right Tibia Fracture with Surgical Fixation - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing

This series of illustrations depict a fracture of the distal tibia and distal fibula but only the tibia is repaired. To stabilize the leg, an incision is made in the knee to access the proximal tibia, the medullary canal of the tibia is reamed and an intramedullary nail is inserted and secured in place with screws proximally and distally.
